Last spring I got myself the 60gig Video iPod. I am a huge music fan so I felt this was a great investment, and after spending over $400 it better be. Being a huge NPR fan I must say I was a little disappointed that it didn’t have an FM tuner. No biggie I just subscribe to the podcasts, but what really grinds my gears is having to go through iTunes to transfer music to the iPod. I hate that they scramble all the songs on the iPod making it nearly impossible to find a song in the folders. Over all I am pretty happy with it though. With the technology that has been out there I think they could have done much more, yet it’s simplicity makes up for a lot.
Now Microsoft has come out with their version of an iPod called the Zune. This thing has an FM tuner and even wireless which allows you to share music with other Zune owners. I have also heard about possible satellite radio compatibility. Probably not true, but you never know. The cool part is the unlimited downloads for $14.99 a month on Zune Marketplace. It seems like it might be a cool little product; better than an iPod is some areas, but lagging in others. If anything it will add some good competition which is better for the consumer and better for me.

Update(Dec. 7, 2006): So I played with this today at the store, and I must say it’s not as cool as I thought it would be. The screen is bigger than an iPod, but it’s still too huge and bulky. The video quality is probably a little better than an iPod, but not by much. Anyway I know most of you don’t care.
“Shoshana Johnson (March 23, 2003) - the first female, African American prisoner of war in the military history of the United States. She and Jessica Lynch were taken captive during the same ambush, but Johnson received very little media attention in comparison to Lynch. Rescued by U.S. Forces April 13, 2003.
Media critics suggest that Lynch’s story was promoted because Lynch was a more palatable and identifiable figure to promote: a young, blonde white woman. Johnson, on the other hand, was an African American woman who was a single mother.” (Excerpt from Wikipedia)
Racism still alive they just be concealing it

No, I don’t know if this is the best example of racism, but it’s kind of weird. I dont want to make this a serious post, but I guess you could take it that way. I just thought I would share the funniest thing I’ve read on Wikipedia so far.
Enough said.

YEAH!!! Democrats win the house by as much 30 seats!
I feel so relieved tonight. We can officially say that we now have the first woman in U.S., Nancy Pelosi, as the Speaker of the House. I’m obviously not a supporter of the corrupt Republicans, and finally since 1994 they are not in control of the House. I just hope that I can say the same about the Senate. Lets hope that bigot, George Allen, doesn’t win in VA. Lets also hope that Gerald Ford wins in TN. His opponent Corker ran a really dirty race against the Democrat Ford. Corker has been accused of getting Ford’s family involved and running racists adds against Ford. Right now at 11:01 CT time Memphis and other bigger cities are left to be counted. Lets hope these people help elect Democrat Ford for U.S. Senate.
Tomorrow Americans vote for the direction our nation is headed. After 12 years of Republican reign in congress, they have proven what they once stated: “too much power corrupts”. During the Bush years there has been zero oversight. Washington has become a playground and a treasure chest for a bunch of these neo-cons(better yet “cons”). Our rights have been shit on and the constitution has been used as tp. The Democrats have just stood bye watching all this unfold and have done little. Tomorrow, if the American people care about their future and want to stop being bent over, let us send the powers that be a message that a famous Republican once said:
This democratic government is still “of the people, by the people, for the people”
Think Progress » 109 Reasons To Dump The 109th Congress
Some of my favorites:
1. Congress set a record for the fewest number of days worked — 218 between the House and Senate combined.
3. Congress failed to raise the minimum wage, leaving it at its lowest inflation-adjusted level since 1955.
62. Congress isn’t doing anything significant to reverse catastrophic climate change.
64. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) used a video tape “diagnosis” to declare that Terri Schiavo, who was later found to be blind, “certainly seems to respond to visual stimuli.”
65. Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL) resigned in disgrace after ABC News revealed explicit instant messages exchanges between Foley and former congressional pages.
66. Half of all Americans believe most members of Congress are corrupt. (…if this is true why let them stay in power?)
67. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO) said that gay marriage “is the most important issue that we face today.”
88. Congress appropriated $700 million for a “railroad to nowhere, but just $173 million to stop the genocide in Darfur.
So if you haven’t heard Republicans are at it again trying to divert attention away from the real issues. They are now making every last effort to mention what the “joke” comment John Kerry said. If you really look at what he said it is actually true. Even recruiters will tell you that they aren’t going to target the rich. They target the poor and undereducated, because they know they can take advantage of these people. Anyway I am feeding into it as well.
CNN is running a special right now called Broken Government. Republicans always say too much power corrupts, and they have truly showed that with some of the top involved in money laundering and even trying to mess around with young boys. This Tuesday, honestly ask yourself what good has the 12 years of Republican rule in congress has brought.
